The reasons why Gouldian Finch abandon their own children or eggs
️⃣- Lack of experience: 🌱Young or 🧓old Gouldian finch may not know how to 🤱take care of their offspring, so they may give up due to 😫stress or fear.
️⃣- 🪱Parasites: Gouldian finch infected with 🪱parasites may leave their nests to avoid further infection🤢 or seek treatment.
️⃣- 🦅Predators: Gouldian finch may abandon their nests when they sense 🚫danger or are attacked, or they may throw out their chicks to distract predators or reduce their food burden.
️⃣- Food and water shortage: Gouldian finch may migrate to places with 🌾resources during the ☀️dry season, or they may give up their 🪹nests when they cannot find enough resources to 🤱feed themselves and their🐥 chicks, or even toss their chicks out.
️⃣- Poor maternal instinct: Some Gouldian finch are naturally lacking in care for their offspring, unwilling to incubate eggs or feed them, or even harm their own children.
️⃣- Scared😖 or disturbed: If there is too much 🗣noise, 💡light, smell or other stimuli during the breeding period, Gouldian finch may feel insecure or 😱stressed, and thus abandon their own 🪺nests or 🥚eggs.
️⃣- Find defects in their children or eggs: If Gouldian finch think that their children or eggs are 😷unhealthy, unable to survive or grow, they may instinctively discard them, to save their own 🔋energy and 🍚resources.
️⃣- Contaminated by other smells: If 🦜Gouldian finch come into contact with 🕴human or other🐈⬛ animal smells, they may think that their 🐥children or eggs have been ☣️tainted, and thus reject them.
